The Texas Hill Country has two types of cedar
1) Blue Berry Cedar
2) Red Berry Juniper
Most of the Hill country has Red Berry Juniper. Red Berry Juniper can not be killed by cutting or chopping off the tops. That just makes them grow back mad. It also creates sharp stumps that can hurt live stock and wildlife, let alone any rubber tired vehicle that comes across cut off plants. The only cost effective control is mechanically removing the root ball. That is what we do, and there is no regrowth.
